1992 St. Louis Man of the Year

Highlights:

The 1992 season marked the 100th anniversary of the baseball Cardinals.

The Cardinals moved the fences in by about 10ft to enhance the offense.

The Cards led the NL in batting average and fielding average, but couldn't put it together in the clutch.  By mid-August, they couldn't keep up in the standings.  They finished behind Pittsburgh and Montreal.

Both Pedro Guerrero and Andres Galarraga had been counted on for a great year, but both were injured early and never really made it back into playing form...

Bob Tewksbury was 16-5 and was among the top vote-getters in the Cy Young Award balloting.  He allowed just 20 walks in 233 innings, which was the 5th best ratio of walks to innings since 1900.

Ozzie collects his 2,000th hit and 13th Gold Glove.

(Tell me your highlights from 1992!)

NL Championship: Braves over Pirates (4-3)            World Series: Jays over Braves (4-2)
