Highlights:
On July 30th, the
largest regular season crowd in Busch Stadium history (53,415) watches the
Cardinals defeat the Cubs, 10-7.
A players strike stopped the season and
lasted until April 1995. Needless to say there wasn't much point in a
postseason...
The Cards opened the
season on a Sunday night for the only other time in their history.
Lead-off man Ray Lankford cranked Jose Rijo's first pitch for a home run.
