facts:
The
season starts with a new outfield wall from wagon-gate to wagon-gate.
The new wall shortens the distancs by 10 feet in hopes of increasing
offense, however only 7 additional home runs are hit into the new area.
(The wall will last until the start of the 1977 season.)
The
game times for April, May and September, are moved to 7:30pm in hopes that
more kids would be able to attend the games.
All
three Cruz brother, Jose, Hector, and Tommy, played for the Cardinals
in 1973.
Joe
Torre hits for the cycle on 6/23 at Pittsburgh, collecting the single with
two outs in the ninth.
